Strange?

Fatigue has been a barrier to doing a lot of drawing the past couple of months, so  all you get here are a few random sketches, with whatever meaning you want to extract from them...

Buffy

It's been quite a while since I've managed a decent likeness of anyone. Quite happy with this as a step in the right direction (and way better than attempts in previous years).

A little

I haven't done as much drawing as I'd planned over the past week of holidays, but here are a couple of things I like.

Firstly, not as complex as drawing a person, but good practise in observation, with a little shading thrown in.

Secondly, a really quick series of sketches of the same subject in different poses. While I'm short (empty...) of ideas for my next comic, this type of stuff is likely to be a key underpinning for whatever I do.

Felicia elf

Many issues with this one, but I'm giving myself points for effort, since I haven't moved past the quick sketch stage for a while :)

Excited?

This actually came out more scary than excited, but whatever...

Creature

No reference for this, just straight out of my head. I may return to it for some shading and touch up, but I think it's creepy enough as it is.

Recovery

I'm slowly starting to push past the drawing block which started Sept last year, building some momentum before work uses up a chunk of energy again starting Monday.

This is the best of this morning's pics:

Lighter

And, obviously scared by the last post, here's this morning's trivia :)

Emotion

I think I consciously avoid conveying any of my emotion within my drawings, which is (one thing) stopping them from having any pretense of being art. One of my aims this year is to at least occasionally explore something beyond the practice of drawing, to put a little of myself into what I create. The below are a tiny first step:

And I didn't necessarily mean to put me as an image in the pictures, although that's how these turned out...
